AUTHOR: Robert TITLE: Wow... hard day! DATE: 5/21/2003 04:59:00 PM ----- BODY: So, today was kindof a REK. I took Adam to work this morning over on the other side of town, which was actually a nice drive... then came home, and I've been pretty much sitting in this chair all day. Yar. I've had lots of weird strange rather poorly-defined tasks to do, which is always fun. I have the hardest time getting to those kinds of tasks generally. You know what I mean? The tasks that are well-defined, I can get to and get done rather easily, but if I'm not REALLY sure where that address is, or who I should talk to about this or that, its a lot harder for me to get going on it. I've had to hunt down some hardware specs for a customer -- meaning what kind of computer he should buy to run our software (but since we're a software company, generally we don't talk a lot about hardware, so I was getting answers like "well, it will work on pretty much anything as long as X-Y- and Z are true... but my customer wanted like PART NUMBERS from me, which I didn't have...) Then I had to hunt down expected completion dates for some testing we're doing -- who knows what day we'll be completed? It really depends on whether the testing goes well or not... Ah, blah blah blah, you get the idea, lots of vague stuff that involved a lot of me annoying other people, which is always just a blast, right? I *love* it when people hate me. :) On another note, looks like our scooter won't be ready for another couple of days -- UGH! I was really looking forward to picking it up today, as sort of a treat after my hard day. Turns out there's a crack in the oil tank, and they're going to try to find one for us, but they might not be able to, which would mean that we'd have to either a) mix the oil & gas ourselves (that's no fun) or b) we'll have to wait a couple of months (!!) to get another one. There you go, that's life in the big city. ----- --------
